When the pressure was highest and the clock was ticking loudest, one name kept rising above the noise Benjamin Šeško.
The Slovenian striker has officially been crowned Manchester United’s Goal of the Month winner for February, and honestly, it was never going to be anyone else.
Coming off the bench time and time again, Šeško delivered three dramatic, late, and crucial goals across the month the kind that don’t just change games, but swing seasons. His impact against Fulham, West Ham United, and Everton earned Michael Carrick’s side a massive seven points. Talk about clutch.
The Fans Have Spoken
With 34% of the total vote, fans chose his breathtaking strike against West Ham as February’s finest moment.
United were trailing at the London Stadium after Tomas Soucek gave the Hammers the lead early in the second half. The game needed a spark and Šeško was thrown into the fire just before the 70th minute.
Then came stoppage time. Then came magic.
Bryan Mbeumo whipped in a dangerous inswinging cross into the box. Positioned near the post, with barely any room to operate, Šeško produced a stunning first-time finish cleverly reversing his effort around Axel Disasi and beyond the reach of Mads Hermansen.
Ice in his veins. Pure composure. Pure class.
And instead of soaking in the moment? He sprinted back to the centre circle, hungry for more.
Time denied him a winner that night, but the statement had already been made.
Clutch Against Everton
Away at Goodison Park, Šeško once again proved he thrives under pressure. After a brilliant lofted pass from Matheus Cunha set the move in motion, Mbeumo surged forward and Šeško exploded into the box to meet it.
One touch. Clinical finish past Jordan Pickford.
That strike secured all three points and finished second in the fan vote with 30%.
Stoppage-Time Drama at Old Trafford
Back home at Old Trafford against Fulham, he did it again.
Moments after a Fulham equaliser threatened to spoil the night, Šeško spun brilliantly inside the box and unleashed a decisive stoppage-time winner. That goal earned him 17% of the vote good enough for third place but its importance was far greater than numbers suggest.
Other stunning efforts were in contention too including goals from Casemiro and Cunha against Fulham, as well as strikes by Bruno Fernandes and Mbeumo versus Spurs.
But February belonged to one man.
Impact. Timing. Consistency.
Benjamin Šeško didn’t just score goals he changed narratives.
And when the votes were counted, there was only ever going to be one winner.
