SHOCK IN BAUCHI: 7 Arrested Over Wife-Swapping Allegations

Authorities in Bauchi State have arrested seven men in Azare, Katagum Zone, over claims they were involved in a secret wife-swapping arrangement.

The Hisbah Command confirmed the arrests followed complaints from concerned residents and insiders who exposed the group’s activities. According to officials, the men allegedly organized exchanges involving their wives for intimate relations an act strongly condemned as against Islamic teachings and community values.

Zonal Commander, Malam Ridwan Muhammad Khairan, said the suspects were picked up through a targeted operation after credible intelligence.

He added that the men admitted to the act, with one reportedly claiming it was influenced by recurring dreams a justification authorities have firmly dismissed.

Community leaders say efforts were made to correct those involved through warnings and counselling, but the behaviour allegedly continued in secret.

The matter was eventually escalated to protect the moral standards of the area.

Hisbah has warned residents to steer clear of practices that go against religious and societal norms, stressing that such actions will not be tolerated.

Investigations are ongoing.
