Galatasaray have been dealt a tough setback after their Champions League exit, with star striker Victor Osimhen now set for arm surgery following an injury against Liverpool FC.

The Turkish side’s European run ended in painful fashion at Anfield on March 18, 2026, where Liverpool thrashed them 4–0 to seal a 4–1 aggregate win. But the bigger concern quickly became Osimhen, who fractured his right forearm after a heavy mid-air clash with Ibrahima Konaté early in the match.

In typical Osimhen fashion, he tried to push through the pain, briefly continuing with his arm strapped before being forced off at halftime.

Medical checks later confirmed the fracture, and while initial talks suggested a cautious recovery, surgery is now the clear path forward. The operation is expected to happen within days once swelling reduces and final assessments are completed.

Despite the setback, there’s a wave of optimism around his recovery. Speaking during a casual livestream while in Nigeria, Osimhen kept things real and hopeful  hinting he could be back sooner than many expect.

“Six weeks max… sometimes four weeks, then I build fitness and return,” he said.

His calm attitude and even appearing without a brace at times have sparked mixed reactions online, but one thing is clear  he’s determined to bounce back fast.

Turkish football analyst Levent Tüzemen also believes the type of surgery could speed things up, suggesting Galatasaray might not be without their main man for too long.

Still, his absence will be felt. Osimhen has become the heartbeat of this Galatasaray side  a constant goal threat and a focal point in attack. Without him, the team will need to reshuffle and find new solutions, especially with big league games ahead, including a crucial clash against Fenerbahçe on April 26.

For now, all eyes are on the surgery  and the countdown to Osimhen’s return has already begun.
