VDM Reacts: ‘Nnamdi Kanu’s Sentence Is a Distraction From Nigeria’s Real Crisis

Social media critic and activist, VeryDarkMan, has described the sentencing of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as a deliberate distraction from the alarming security crisis currently unfolding across Nigeria.

According to him, the court case,  which many expected to be adjourned — was suddenly concluded “at a convenient time,” just when Nigerians were united in condemning the recent terror attacks and kidnappings happening across the country.

VDM noted that Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba communities had all been speaking with one voice following the church attack in Kwara State and the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State. He believes this unusual unity is what triggered the alleged “distraction tactics.”

He added that the conversation is now shifting online, with some citizens accusing the presiding judge, Justice James Kolawole Omotosho, of ethnic bias — a narrative he described as part of the intended diversion.

“Where Are the Girls?” — VDM Questions the President

VeryDarkMan openly challenged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demanding updates on the abducted victims.

He revealed that 38 people were taken from the Kwara state church, and terrorists are allegedly demanding ₦100 million per person, totalling ₦3.8 billion.
He warned that the nation is being encircled by violent groups and urged authorities to act urgently.

Security Warning to Nigerians Ahead of December Travels

VDM also issued a strong advisory to Nigerians planning to travel this December, especially by road.

According to him:

Terrorists are actively operating across multiple regions

Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba citizens are all victims

Both Christians and Muslims are being targeted

He warned Nigerians not to enter commercial buses without proper security presence, insisting that the current situation requires extra caution.

“Don’t Fall for the Diversion — Focus on Bringing Back Our Girls”

In his closing statement, VDM urged Nigerians to ignore every political or social distraction being pushed into the media space.

According to him, the priority should be bringing back the abducted girls and confronting the growing wave of terrorism, not allowing themselves to be carried away by narratives deliberately created to divide the nation.
